Camping World - Sales lady Paula Gulseth

My experience buying was fantastic and comforting because of Paula. If you want to no about full time camping and part time camping talk to her. She’s knowledgeable about everything in that field. She’s makes you feel like you need to be camping and enjoying life on the road. I bought one from her,my wife and I are happy that we hooked up with Paula. We hooked up with other sales people and not happy they didn’t no alot and made us feel very uncomfortable. If you want to feel comfortable and not pressured asked for Paula you will not be disappointed. If you want to meet her she will be at the Camping Show in Madison this week. You won’t be disappointed.

Making a large purchase such as an RV should not be based solely on emotional feelings about a person. Do your research and be knowledgeable.

Compare with other manufacturers and other dealers. Demand that all terms be in writing and read and understand what you are signing. Trust nothing if it is not in writing. Do not accept delivery or make payment until you have inspected every square inch of the RV and tested all components to be in satisfactory working order.

This is what is called a PDI. Do not accept promises of anything getting fixed after delivery.

If any of this is otherwise... WALK AWAY.

This is a complaint website.

It is not for apple polishing or free advertising.

We're only interested if Paula ruined your day.

I'm glad you are pleased, but there are other websites for that.

Camping World in Byron, Georgia - Sold stolen recovered motorhome

1.3
Details
We started our motorhome search in Oct. 2017. We decided right away that we wanted one. We live 100 miles from the dealer and we decided after we got home to call back and put some money down on it. We went back to get the vehicle a week later at the scheduled time and found out the awning didn't work and they had to order a part. they wanted us to take the vehicle and bring it back when the part came in. Being that would mean another 200 mile trek that was not going to work for us. After arguing for 30 minutes they decided they could deliver the vehicle to us. As of Jan.4th 2018 we have found out the vehicle was stolen which nobody told us and there is still a hold on the title preventing the release of the title to our lein holder or ability for us to get a plate. We found out on our own from the tag office that the vehicle was stolen and still listed as stolen as of Jan 4th and it was still in the previous owners name not the dealers. At this point we are going to try to get our money back and get our story out to everyone we can. All we get from the dealer is sorry and they don't want to except any responsibility at the store.

Camping World - Beware, particularly first time RV buyers

1.0
Details
I anticipated a simple purchase of my first travel trailer. Three months and two bank loan payments later I can finally close the door on this horrible transaction which involved dozens of phone calls on my part and a whole bunch of problems. Yes, the refund of the duplicate sales tax payment that Camping World intentionally forced me to make (the temp registration was about to run out) finally came in the mail from them yesterday. No more calls to camping world needed now. They acknowledged that they had forgotten to complete the tax paperwork despite several calls on my part to make sure that everything was on track for me to get my permanent registration on time. Their only possible solution three days before temp expiration was that I should make a sales tax payment directly to the state and camping world would immediately refund the tax amount that they had already charged me for. "Immediately" meant more than one month and involved several phone calls with a variety of excuses. (Payments are slow because we are closing the financial books for the month, etc.) This was just one of a dozen headaches. Over the months I got the feeling that they were incompetent, that their right hand did not know what their left hand was doing, and dare I say, a feeling that these folks are perhaps just money hungry lying crooks. These feeling emerged from such experiences as rescheduled appointments without asking me, charging what I consider to be the addition of hidden costs ($1K in dealer prep costs shown for the first time at contract signing that they just tried to blow by me), contradictory and incorrect information from and between several camping world employees on many things. Oh, and the only person in our organization that can answer your question is not in today. Their hitch installation cost seemed a little high and so a got a quote from another "camping world" franchise in another state ($800 less - 40%.) When Kingston spent 15 minutes convincing me that the other proposal was just dangerous, I began to wonder about camping world, in general. How could the other camping world sell dangerous setups? Now an independent travel trailer retailer who is doing a little work for me tells me (without me asking) that my hitch set-up is way too heavy for the size of my travel trailer. If you aren't experienced with "all" of RVing, don't expect these folks to be your friends. I know a lot more than I did three months ago. Good luck with your RVing. Maybe our paths with cross on the road. By the way, I do love my new travel trailer. Having recently retired, I am having a lot of fun (unless I pass a camping world on the highway, when I just cringe.) But on the bright side I have received a great education that will help me in future RVing.

Camping World - Horrible Service Department in Hendersonville

1.3
Details
The service department at the Hendersonville location is horrible. After a month of phone calls and messages not being returned our RV, that we purchased new from them the end of October, was brought in for a faulty water heater and 2 other issues. The water heater was the main concern. It sat on their lot from May until we picked it up the end of October. We were putting it permanently on land that was tricky to get the RV on. We discovered that the water heater wasn't working and called only to be told it wasn't touched because it wasn't on the work order. They wouldn't send someone out to do a very quick repair and took no responsibility for their mistake. It is now January and the only way they will mail me the parts is if I sign a ridiculously legally technical release form. Not absolving them of any liability regarding the repair but to stop me from speaking negatively about them in person, in reviews or on social media. Without a lawyer looking it over we are not signing the release form. I would pay for the parts from somewhere else before I bow to their stipulations and pay for a lawyer to read the release form. Their corporate people have blocked me on Twitter and Facebook. Cowardly actions instead of remedying this situation. Their ratings on Google and other sites are very low but they don't seem to care about bad reviews. Stay very far away from them.

Camping World Service means no service!

2.0
Details
I took my 2007 Fleetwood Discovery into the Camping World in Gulf Breeze, FL on November 18. There were several items not working that should be covered under the extended warranty bought from Good Sam. Forty seven days later, not one item has been fixed. No parts have been ordered. The diagnostics were sent to parts on December 9 for pricing. The pricing clerk is not able to find prices for two minor items and at least 3 items have been discontinued. They have no idea what they will do to resolve those issues. One item I was able to call Fleetwood parts today and get a price. According to Matt at Camping World, policy is to only deal with THEIR Fleetwood parts person. Camping World policy is not to contact Assurance, the warranty company, until all part prices have been received. WHAT? If I had known no work would be done on my RV for 3-4 months, I would not have taken it there. I am going to attempt to go get it this weekend so it can sit in my driveway while they figure out how to order new rollers for the shower doors. Camping World Service Centers need new policies that benefit customers and not themselves! Very dissatisfied!

Camping World in Woodstock, Georgia - "Management" is terrible and they do not care about you after they make a sell.

3.0
Details
On October 8, 2017 I purchased a 2018 Heartland Pioneer DS310. My sales person was Anthony Tobin. Anthony was a great sales person and showed us several units within our price range and did not push any purchase on us. We closed on the purchase around 6:30 PM and the staff had already left before we could do our walkthrough of the camper. Anthony advised us that I would need to place them a call on Monday (10/9/17) to schedule a time for the RV to be delivered. On October 9, 2017 I placed several phone calls to Camping world to arrange a date and a time for the unit to be delivered. Finally we settled on the delivery date being October 13, 2017. On Wednesday (10/11/17) I placed a phone call to see about getting the unit delivered on 10/12/17 because of the weather that was supposed to come in on the 13th. We decided to keep the delivery time and date the same as previously determined. I talked to Mike who was the delivery man for the unit. I advised Mike that the camper would be sitting on my father's property for a moment and advised him the address. I advised Mike that the driveway to where it would be parked was approximately half a mile or less down a graveled driveway. Mike advised me that normally they only took the camper to where the pavement ends, but that he would take a look at the driveway and *** the possibilities of him delivering the unit to where I wanted it to be parked. On October 13, 2017 I advised my father that Mike might not be able to haul the unit to where I wanted it to be parked. My father contacted a family friend who had a large tractor that could haul the unit to where i wanted it parked if Mike could not. When Mike arrived I drove him down the driveway to *** the possibility of him hauling it down the driveway. Mike stated that he was confident that he could haul it down the driveway with some help throughout the process. My father and I agreed that we would help him haul it down the driveway. I was in the front guiding him through narrow portions of the driveway and my father was in the back. Mike did a great job getting it through the toughest and most narrow portion of the driveway. Once we got the camper at my fathers residence down the driveway, Mike parked the truck and got out to *** the next and final stretch of the haul and to where the camper would be parked. Mike stated that he would probably drop the unit off at my fathers and not take it up the final stretch. Mike and my father, and I looked assessed the driveway and made a few measurements to confirm that the unit could be hauled up. Mike agreed that he would haul it to where it would be parked. Mike was worried about one pole that was near the driveway and we measured the area and talked about it and came to the conclusion that it would not be a problem. My father pointed out a tree that was leaning over the route and stated to Mike that we should remove the tree first. Mike stated that he didn't think the tree would be a problem and hopped back in his truck to haul it up. While coming through the final area the camper collided with the tree that my father had pointed out. The tree collided with the power/led awning moving the awning about a foot and a half bending the awning. When I heard the sound i halted Mike. We took a loot at the damages and figured out a remedy to get the tree away and off of the camper. We cut the tree down using a chainsaw and freed up the collision. Mike finished the haul with ease after that point and parked the unit where I wanted it to be parked. I asked Mike who i would need to call at Camping world to have the awning fixed. Mike advised me that i would just need to contact my insurance company. I asked Mike why Camping World would not take care of this issue since it occurred during the delivery of my unit with Camping World's truck hauling it. Mike stated that he was not supposed to deliver the unit past the pavement ending. Avoiding any type of confrontation I just advised Mike that we would figure something out and Mike left. After Mike left I placed a phone call to Camper World to address this issue. The lady i talked to advised that she did not know if Tracey was available, but that she would try to hunt her down to give me a call, and if not she would leave the message. I did not receive a phone call from Tracey that day. I placed a phone call on 10/14/17 and asked to speak with Tracey. Tracey advised me to write this email explaining what had occurred the day this happened. Tracey advised that she and her GM will read this message and see what they need to do to get this issue fixed. I advised Tracey on the phone that i do not understand how i should have to come out of my pocket to fix the awning. The unit was attached to Mikes Camping world truck when the damage occurred. Mike was not forced or coerced into hauling the unit where he did, he did so freely. Mike was confident that he could do the job, so we let him. Mike also knew that we had a tractor on stand by to haul in the unit if we needed to. After over literally 100's of phone calls (non of which was to any supervisor - because they would not return my phone call) an employee at this location advised me that Tracey had told them to tell me that there was nothing that they could do to fix my unit. I attempted to reach out to their corporate office, and couldn't get any help there either. IF YOU PLAN ON BUYING A RV GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. GO TO A COMPANY WHO PUTS YOU FIRST AND WORKS FOR YOU. THE ONLY THING THESE PEOPLE WANT IS YOUR MONEY.

Camping World in Chattanooga, Tennessee - DO NOT USE THEM

1.7
Details
DO NOT USE THEM.............I recently had my rv in for a 45 point inspection, winterization, and a few other minor things. They left my trailer a mess. Used my personal towels and just threw them in the tub. Soaking wet. Scuffed up base at my sink, left a mess in the tub and sink. Left items of mine out on the floor. Also bent my tongue base plate. I have pictures of all of this. I am extremely upset by this. Not to mention the exorbitant charge for the services I received of course which was not disclosed in the "quotes" Very unhappy with this whole experience. Mentioned this to the service person, didn't have anything to say.

On New Years day 2017, on the way to Florida, we had a blowout. We called Camping World and Bob an associate, worked hard on finding us tires. Of course, we had to wait until the next day to have them put on. Early the next day, Bob had them ready for us. We followed him to the service center and he even took me back to Camping World to get a part they needed. He was so helpful. He got us the best possible price. He also called Walmart and asked if we could stay overnight. Can’t thank him and Camping World enough!

This is a complaint website.

It is not for free advertising or apple polishing.

Please complain about the crummy tire that blew out.

Or tires, since you bought multiples.

You were sadly unprepared for a road trip with bad tires.

Damn why must everything be a complaint. I thought this was about Camping World. Over half of the complaints on here are not about Camping World but the RV manufacturers .

Camping World in Wood Village, Oregon - The worst customer service I've ever encountered

1.0
Details
We bought a 2018 Jayco Jay Flight in July 2017 Hillsboro store. Service was at Troutdale store, called and left message twice, no return call, third time made appointment, had to wait a month to get to get trailer info shop for mostly little things, was told they would call with update in a week, no call came, at two weeks I called, no response, a week later I called three more times with no response, after four weeks I drove to store to find out what was going on with my trailer, got the run around and excuses. Finally after almost three months of trailer being there, I went and picked it up, gave it a quick once over before I left shop and found the compartment lock that was repaired, still not work properly, the compartment seal that was replaced was installed wrong, the brakes weren't adjusted that they said they could do, the a/c concern ? Before I left I told them to ship me the new compartment seal and I'll do it myself because I'm not coming back here. Got trailer home and found my heater had been left on, for how long I didn't know, propane tanks just about empty. This has been the worst service hands down I've ever had ever with anything in my life, never an apology for this just excuses. However one person who helped me today (Robert) did apologize for the poor communication and did order the compartment seal. Overall I would give this dealer zero stars and will go elsewhere for service even if I have to drive a hundred miles. C Scott
