Camping World in Oakwood, Georgia - CW is unworthy of your time or money.

1.0
Details
CW's managers are so ineffective at interpersonal communication that it defies belief they are allowed to represent your company and meet the public. Both finance managers were rude, confrontational and non-enaging. The "bait and switch" on trade-in pricing was epic. I fell for it once, decided to let it pass, and then got hit over the head with it again sitting at the desk ready to close the deal. After burning hours and hours of time, I was morally forced to get up and leave. The fellow who gave me the "orientation" knew dramatically less about the RV than I did. He was lost. My sales guy was friendly enough, though it rang very hollow when repeatedly said he was "going to bat for me." CW clearly allows their sales people no autonomy/authority to get any deal done. I have since struck a deal and purchased a new 5th wheel/traded mine in with one of your competitors, today. They offered me the same price CW did originally, only they stuck with their offer until the end. I wouldn't recommend CW to any person, living or dead. The experience left me with a distinctly lessened opinion of humanity. Bert

Camping World - Customer Service and Service Dept

Attn: Marcus Lemonis I doubt if this will even get to you or if we will even hear back from you, We first bought our 2018 17 ft Jayco from Gulf Breeze CW and had it for 4 or 5 months then realized that we needed something larger. We looked around at all the dealerships and found a 2018 26 ft Coleman Lantern 262BH that was reduced $10,000.00. We asked why it was marked off so much and the salesman Joel said that it was sitting on the property for over 90 days and they have to start paying the note. Long story short we bought it and even had problems getting together to sign the paper work between us and the dealership. I was about to say forget the whole thing when I got a call from Brian (he said he was the head finance manager). He said he would give us 100 gift card when we come in to make up for the trouble that we have had. So we came in signed our papers and guess what when I asked for the gift card he said he couldn't give it to us as they took a loss!!! first lie right after we signed our note. Now we have our first trip out with a freezing cold front that came thru and our hot water heater goes out on the first night. My husband made an appointment to bring it in on a Wednesday to have it checked as we had another camping trip planned and they said they couldn't look at it for two weeks, My husband said why didn't you tell me this and have me make and appointment and drive 1 hour away. So my husband told them we had a trip planned and we were leaving on Friday and they had to look at it. After he had a few words the finance manager told him to go have lunch and he would take care of it. After 3 hours he got a call to come get the trailer as it was fixed. 2nd trip- on the first night turned it on and it worked for maybe two hours that we know of and didn't work all weekend after that. this was in January on Martin Luther King day and we drove straight back from our trip right to Camping World and dropped it off for the 2nd time. Never heard anything from anyone till exactly 2 weeks. They said it is the exnision on the hot water heater that is bad and they have to order a new one. So now this is going to be 3 weeks that they have this and still nothing. We have had unusual cold weather and so my husband drained the water out of the trailer so that it wouldn't brake any lines. When my husband said to make sure that they add water before they do anything and George said that they are not responsible for anything if anything freezes or if they don't add water. My trailer has been in there more that we have used it. Very discouraged and disappointed.

Camping World in Midway, Florida - Bait n switch and argumentive

Thought we had a deal, at closing they wanted to add $2k to price because we wanted to pay in cash. They said they get a kick back from bank if they get customer to finance which they said they pass onto customer. Then said do the loop hole, apply for the finance, we get the kick back, you get the $2k discount and pay it off before first payment so no interest fee. What a scam!

After my sister paid a fortune for a new washer/dryer (which was junk) the washer quit working. They charged way too much to install the faulty appliances and now after removing them and taking them to Camping World they have had them a month without so much as looking at them. Very bad company.

The Outlook travel trailer we bought in June 2016 has had numerous issues ORANGE TV , cracked shower mixer - they resolved both - thank you 1 of the a/c units went outr because, per Camping World the wiores were too short at it was a " fire hazard" then in October 2017 we went awy for a weekend and the door locked - let's presume a joke and someone closed the door... Had to break the window to get in. CW Woodstock could not accepct the unit until Nov 12th as they were far too busy. Now Feb 6th and they still have the unit. No idea whern it will be ready Needed window, screen door and a lock. When we went to the Atlanta show borth the rep from CW Savannah and the director from the manu said all items, STOCK. CW Woodstock is not a location I will ever deal with again. Dave, the tech, told me I need to call the manu and also told me to take up my issues with the dealer in Chatanooga

Camping World - Very slow and poor service

Just bought a $188,000.00 RV from camping world, going on the 3rd month now and have not been able to use it yet. Several warranty related issues, some very minor, but 2 large, House batteries will not connect, and Generator in operable. The camping world store where we purchased not only has very rude employees in their service department, but the manager is a disgrace. When we went in for the service work and told the service managers that we had planned our first trip for the month after the purchase, he just said, ":Well that isn't going to happen!" after several phone calls to Camping world and the RV manufacturer, I took it to a different Camping World Store, They have had the RV now for over 2 weeks, When I called for an update on the service, had to wait for someone to call me back, which to their credit they did, but could only tell me that the figure that it should be completed in by February 20th, we took the RV in on January 17, 2018 the first appointment that they had open. Since the purchase on December 1, 2018, we have spend over an additional $3000.00 in add on and accessories from camping world, flat tow base plates and and stabilizers for the RV. I looks to us like once Camping World makes the big sell- your can forget getting any level of exceptable service.
