Camping World - Always be prepared to walk away.

I went in to see if I could work a deal trading in my 2004 Class A for a new 5th wheel. My motorhome was back at my residence which is about 200 miles away. I was planning on storing the new 5th wheel in the town where CW is located. I gave them an honest description of the condition of my trade. I didn't want to drive it all the way down there just to be turned away. They said they still needed to do a check on my trade in unit, but baring any major problems everything should be good. They had allowed me the amount equal to the NADA book for trade in. Since everything seemed in order with the deal I agreed to the numbers and signed the deal. I followed through with my everything on my end and drove the motorhome down there 2 weeks later to "finish everything up". After about an hour the Salesman comes back and says there were a lot of issues with my trade basically going down the list of everything I had disclosed and described to them two weeks earlier. He said they also needed to keep the unit into the week to have a mechanic look over the transmission. I had to be back at home the next day since I worked during the week. They also wanted to put an additional $5000 into the deal to cover the issues I had told them about before. Since I had an problem with both issues I asked for the keys to my motorhome and requested a refund of my deposit. For my trouble, they did give me a $250 gift card, but I wasted half that in fuel plus my time and trouble. I will monitor my account and post again if my deposit isn't refunded. My advise to everyone is not to trust CW and always be prepared to walk away.

Camping World - Poor Management at the General Managment Level Ft Myers baranch

Management favoritism towards a young female employee but against a older worker at the Ft Myers branch and the older employee has been there longer and has to the pick up the work of the younger employee in many cases. This is pure case of age discrimination when the GM gives a 20+ girl a pay raise and an older employee is told she can"t have one and is harassed by the GM. The General Manager is involved with the younger employee which indicates a poor operating process. This harassment has forced the older employee to leave with a bad taste in her mouth. I have been a manager for 55 years and worked with young and old but never showed blatant miss use of my management power as this GM displayed. I also Manage a 501 c 3program in the Education arena so I know what has to be handled and how. Most of my 35 employees are 55 years or older and are the corner stone for my program. Its very disappointing to think an organization as large as yours would allow such poor management philosophies especially at the GM level ---- Thank You for your time

Camping World - Liars and thieves who will rip you off.If you let them.

Was in the process of trading up a beautiful, hardly used in exc.cond.travel trailer . When I was about to purchase, my trade value was lowered by $3,000 because "we (camping world) have to bring it up to trade quality". My coach is in exc.cond.and just inspected by a local rv dealer.Brakes/tires 90%.First thing I was told was "brakes and tires need replacement $700 ". Liars. "coach needs to be vacuumed $300" (I recently had it cleaned and detailed). "Complete inspection is needed, $500"(I just had it completely inspected before trading it). All these charges would be deducted from my trade valuation. More miscellaneous charges would be added and deducted from trade valuation, including $1,000 labor. DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED $$$ AT CAMPING WORLD.You have been forewarned.Do not upset your children by finding what you want only to be lied to, by a company that does questionable tactics. Camping world lies to your FACE.

Completely agree with all you said here. Two years after I bought our 2016 Outback and still being told I overpaid by $10k.

Didn’t know any better back then. Delivery inspection also revealed multiple issues (leaks, broken cabinet doors, malfunctioning plumbing, etc. So bad they didn’t even put air in the tires.

Checked them when I got home and found all four were 20 pounds low. I am sorry you went through this too.

Camping World in Saukville, Wisconsin - Pissed off customer

My husband and I wanted to trade in our 5th wheel and get a class c morter home. The first red flag was when we got there on a Saturday we wanted to talk to one of the sales guys about doing this and the lady that works by the door told us we are to busy come back another day. WTH!! So we waited and finally got a sales person to help us an hour later. So then we picked out the class c morter home we liked and then they did the financing and OMG!! They tried screwing us big time on this. It was a coachman frellander 2011 going for 47-48 grand. They came back with our financeing saying with our trade in our monthly payments would be 6-7 hundered a month. We where in shock and said no. Then the guy looks at us and said well May be this is not the one for u. OMG!! I wanted to walk right out if there. We have never ever had any kind of issues like this before. Then we looked at a cheaper one and still got nothing but a run around with them again. We told them the monthly amount we wanted to stick with. Then they come back with a higher amount. Finally we thought about it and dicided to do it. We where supposed to pick up and drop off our 5th wheel on a Friday. They had apsalutley nothing ready NOTHING.. thank God I called that Thursday to find out what bank will be doing this so I could have the info for our insurance company. They would never return our phone calls when they told us they would. So then that Thursday the day before we where supposed to pick up the morter home. They called us finally back with a higher price again. So we said no. That night at 7pm we get a call from the financing guy saying he was going to go through the financing again and would call us back in the morning at 10am we never ever got a call back from them. We have had 4 campers and not once did we ever have such bull----!! Like this EVER!! We went some where else and got a 2015 class c morter home with two slid outs and more for less then half the price for monthly payments. We recamend to everyone NOT to go here.. They are the HARRIBLE.. and 100% scams there.. We will never go there again.....

Camping World worked with us in resolving our issues. John and Greg were amazing to work with and promptly fixed the situation. They have kept us as customers in the future.

Original review posted by user Mar 23, 2018

Not only did they admit that their financing guy lied to us about what their extended warrenty covers, they also sold us a used trailer with 2 leaks, mold and a rodded awning bar. This is a huge corporation and I am surprised they are allowed to completely take advantage of innocent customers. These people deserve to be shut down!!!

Camping World in Olive Branch, Mississippi - Worst Customer Service

2.2
Details
October of 2017 went into Camping World of Memphis with my husband, brother and his wife. We were each looking to purchase new campers. Andrew Jacuzzi and Marcus showed us campers they listened to our request and budget ranges and proceeded to lead the way. We looked at almost every travel trailer on lot to be sure we got what we wanted after making choice we each went in to start financing. This is where the fun starts 1st we had a 2009 Puma for trade with site unseen we was told they would trade for $7,000.00 + $500.00 cash and it would take a couple days to know about financing this was told after 3 hours of waiting and thinking we was leaving with new camper. Anytime we wanted to know what was going on with financing we had to call and ask they always say they will follow up but they DON'T!! On Friday called CW and told them we was taking business elsewhere then all of a sudden we was Finally approved and told to be there at 3pm with trade to sign and take camper home. Arrived at 3:30pm, immediately started moving items from old to new, 2-3 men came to inspect old camper. My husband and I was then called out and told our camper was in horrible condition and value of trade was only $500!! I was floored. I know camper needed minor repairs or updates but it was rarely even used so then begins money battle I was ready to walk out but husband wanted new camper so after hour or so of debating and a total of $5,000.00 cash down payment we was able to purchase new camper. Now comes the walk through inspection everything appeared to be working great until pop outs (3) was not retracting correctly. Please understand this is a brand new camper. We was told we could go ahead and take it and when we bring back in for 90 day inspection they could fix it. Camper was dropped off on Dec. 7th for scheduled maintenance and other issues with camper: loose kitchen faucet, water leaking around shower unit, soft spot in floor, no heat in back bunk, hole in wall in back bunk, Popouts and outdoor kitchen door not properly closing. Dennis Ising took our service complaint and assured us all would be fixed properly and in a timely manner. We didn't even attempt to contact the first 30 days. Around middle of January we contacted Dennis and he said he was waiting on warranty approvals we said ok and waited. My brother who also bought new camper same week as us dropped his off as well same day for maintenance. My brother went to camping world around 1st of Feb. 2018 to pick his camper up to find that NOTHING had been repaired he was floored and we where worried same thing was happening to ours so we again spoke to Dennis and he assured us that everything was fixed other than approval for soft spot in floor. He told us he was going to contact Forrest River and see what hold up was. Again weeks go by and no follow up I even emailed Dennis and 2 managers, David Hicks and Jeremy Douglass, on Feb. 19, NEVER got a reply. On March 5th spoke with Dennis told him we was getting inpatient it had been 3 Months why was camper not fixed he assured me ALL was done but soft spot and we could come and get camper. I told him we would be there by Saturday was told by Dennis he would pull camper around after phone call and recheck that all was done. On Friday around 3pm called Camping World to notify we was in route to pick up camper was told by Alex they was still waiting on parts and camper not ready by this time my husband went off and said we was coming. Upon arriving camper was pulled in front Jeremy meet us outside to discuss issues we was told by Jeremy that Dennis was out that day and he was not sure why we was told it was ready and he had no answer for why camper was not repaired after 3 months and parts not even ordered. We was the 3rd complaint on Dennis that day. On Inspection at pick up NOTHING was repaired not even popouts. Proceeded to haul away but battery was dead. Following day my husband called corporate to make formal complaint. Follow up came from David Hicks, Service Manager, at Olive Branch location. He didn't really seem to even care of all our troubles. He had endless excuses stating he was under staffed and that was reason for delays and that Forrest River took to long to approve warranty repairs. I called Forrest River to confirm, Spoke to Kate who gave me complete breakdown. I was told it took CW 2 months to send in photos for some approvals and to date of March 14th NO photos had yet been sent to cover warranty of Popouts! and now popouts no longer under warranty and would be at cost to me. She then called back to tell me she spoke with her warranty manager told him our issues at CW and no need for photos they would approve repair to popouts. Spoke with David on March 21st to confront him of findings again no apologizes or apparent concern just told he is under staffed and I should understand. Really! These is by far the worst customer service ever!! Save yourself the trouble and do not buy or service anything there!!
