Camping World - XXX Terrible SERVICE XXX

Beware of this outfit the Service department Its is a complete joke. They had my TT last year longer than I did. They made a lot of promises but it was an epic fail on all of them. I will never shop or have work completed with this company again. They didn't even fix what they were suppose to fix. The side skirt they replaced fell apart driving down the road. I had to take it back again to fix their screw up and to get done what was not completed the first time, it was another 3 months. They did a half *** job fixing my cabinet they used wood filler, I went to look at it with phone light because overcast day service person said well you see it with that ????? So I guess when I have the light on in RV its going to go away. I call my agent back I told him of my experience he said I could take it to another dealer for proper repairs. I'm telling you BEWARE check out reviews on this company. RICK the body shop manager is a complete waist of money! And Lies about everything he told me he had parts ordered and was going to knock out work. I called him a month later he said he hasn't even order parts yet he told me it would take about 40 man hr to fix and July would be a good date. Yea right had to wait another 2 month.

Camping World in Dover, Florida - Service and Repair

1.0
Details
My first RV experience was the purchase of a new 2016 $80,000 Thor Ace Motorhome (MH) from Camping World herein after referred to as CW. I brought the MH into CW on April 16th 2016 for warranty work which took 30 days to repair and to have paint and fabric protection applied. When we picked the MH up we found stress cracks to the front cap and had to return to CW on May 21st to have those repaired under warranty which took 10 days to complete. On Jan 2 2017 we returned to CW while under factory warranty with more warranty issues; the most significant was the failure of the slide out (S/O) to retract. CW had the MH from Jan 2 to Mar 1 2017 approximately 60 days. They could not duplicate the S/O malfunction. 60 days later after using the MH again the slide out failed. We returned to CW on May 9th 2017. 22 days later we picked up the repaired MH only to find the slide was not closing in the front all the way and there was a 2 inch gap at the bottom front. We were told the gap was fixed and went back to CW on June 7th only to find the gap was exactly the same. After using the MH for planned vacation we returned to CW on Sept 30 to have the repair repaired again (we think they never touched it the previous time). It took 45 days to repair the slide and change out a failed hydraulic jack motor. On Jan 20 2018 we returned to CW because motor 2 at the back of the slide failed.I picked up the MH on March 15th 54 days later. Fascia again was not attached to S/O and there was a new dent on my ladder which was not there when I dropped the coach off. No apology was given.. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING EVER TO CAMPING WORLD. Here are the main issues with CW. Never notified Thor the manufacturer of first S/O complaint. If they had Thor said they would consider covering the repair. Failed to correctly repair slide out three times and the fourth attempt is questionable. The work orders do not accurately depict work done when it comes to slide out repairs and parts replaced. CW applied a paint and fabric protection completely detailing my MH inside and out as a courtesy (Mike Whiteman's GM word) because I requested it. I requested it because I was led to believe it was part of my extended warranty. When I requested to use it, I was told I could not because I didn't pay for it. Whiteman did produce a document I signed at financing showing I declined it. We signed a lot that day. Does it matter who pays for it. Obviously CW did. Whiteman also told me they only warranty paint and body repair for 90 days even thought their website and catalog ads say 12 months. Whiteman told me if I paint yours I would have to paint every ones. Well I doubt they apply paint a fabric protection for free to everyone. At the time of financing I did not want to purchase an extended warranty but the finance officer called the bank and had my interest rate lowered so my payment would be the same with the warranty. I have since learned this is a questionable practice. (Finance guy no longer with CW) It took 30 days for the service advisor to determine they could not repair the paint repair under any warranty. The GM found the error in less than 24 hours. It took 54 days to do a 3 hour repair to my S/O. The MH sat at CW for weeks before parts were order and the first estimate was done on the paint work. All total, CW had my coach 247 days out of the 844 days I have owned it. That is 8 months of down time at $550.00 a month for the loan payment and $1000 in storage fees. So I spent $5400 dollars on something I was unable to use! I was told on two occasions that it would take longer to get the replacement motors in since they had to build them to order. After getting this excuse for the delay a second time I called Lippert, the supplier, and was told NO; the motors my MH needed are in stock and never built to order. Service writer changed her story to MAY BE built to order. Perhaps she should ask so that she gives customer accurate information. She should also return calls in 15 minutes like she says she would and not wait for me to call back the next day. I have had to deal with 5 different service advisors in less then 2 years. Their knowledge of my MH is questionable. I knew more about the Schwintek system then they did. Two have left CW, one went back to sales, and two I don't know where they went to. The service manager Mike Doyle also resigned after he promised me 100% satisfaction. What a joke. The same two parts guy are still there though. So after 7 round trips to camping world with two vehicles at a cost of $70.00 a trip. The lack of use of my MH for 8 months I am done with Camping World. I do not recommend Thor products or Camping World! Horrible customer service. J. Blessee

Camping World in London, Ohio - Heed these review!!!

I had ordered a 2018 StarCraft Satellite Extreme through Camping World of Columbus... This camper was coming out of Chicago. A friend kept asking if I had read reviews on this camper or this dealership, which I hadn't. After asking several times I finally read and read and read. The reviews were horrible! And not to mention their CEO!!! The next morning I call my salesman Alex and said I was backing out of the deal for said reasons. He gave me this whole line about a GM and how things "were bad" but are turning around and that I was buying a great camper. He seemed convincing over the phone though we never met in person, I'm 2 hours away. So I agreed to move on with the purchase. The camper sat on the Columbus lot for 5 days and they didn't look at it until an hour before I got there. (Remember I'm driving 4 hrs round trip to pick this unit up) There were issues that could have been easily fix before I got there if only someone would have looked at it. And the " technician" was a lot jockey, I knew more about this camper than he did! I pointed out three issues that should have been fixed before I pulled it off the lot but again I had a 2hr drive home. Oh and did I mention the salesman was out of the office, so I still haven't met this guy and I had an appointment. The finance guy agreed the parts would be shipped to my house and I had documentation of the issues/parts. I knew in my gut when I pulled off the lot I'd never see the parts. Well a week n half later I call my salesman on his cell and leave him a message of the issue. He had always answered or called me right back before the sale. But not now, forget it! I had to call the front desk to get him to pick up the phone. And the phone conversation was totally different from before the sale. He went dead silent when I told him my name and his mannerism was totally different. All he wanted to talk about was my camping trip and future plans. He didn't want to talk business. When I cornered him in the conversation about my parts he started this crap about warranties and it's on them. "We are on a holding pattern at the moment" he says. Luckily I know more than the kid that showed through my camper and I fixed 2 of the 3 issues in 30 mins. As for the table, it's not worth my time chasing these lying sacks of *** down for. I'll go buy one from my local dealer. I hope n pray I never need the extended warrenty that I purchased because I figure it's not worth the paper it's printed on! In short, I love my camper! The purchase was smooth and easy BUT FORGET ABOUT ANY SERVICE AFTER THE SALE!!! Do yourself a favor and deal elsewhere.

Camping World in Deforest, Wisconsin - Buyer Beware....do not finance through them.....

This was my first new camper purchase...I was so excited....not anymore. Buyer Beware...we purchased a new camper only to find that they added $9100.00 to our loan for extras....when I called and was upset, Dave said, " I cannot believe I was pulled away for a call like this." Way to go Dave! The cost of extras was never explained to us...we were charged $1995.00 for someone to spray a can of stuff on our camper (it only took him 10 minutes) to protect the outside. We have always kept our campers indoors...this make no sense to me. I will never go back...be careful...read everything...if you get Travis as the financial guy...run!! If I could, I would take the camper back. Ask questions, to over the loan amount....be careful!! I have been a buyer by trade for over 25 years, I have never been more disappointed in a retailer and have dealt with a lot.

Camping World Berkley

I bought a brand new Heartland Mallard M185 from Camping World in Berkley Massachusetts who may be the most incompetent dealership that has ever existed. The brand new camper had a bunch of initial quality issues. Too many to mention here, but the game changer was the leaking roof. Yes, a brand new camper has a roof that leaks! Thought I was just unlucky and had to fight with Camping World of Berkley to get a replacement. I took receipt of another brand new Heartland Mallard M185 and that roof leaks too! Camping World of Berkley now wants nothing to do with standing behind a product they sell. Buyer beware! These are junk campers and Camping World cares nothing about you after they make a sale.

Camping World in Hamburg, New York - Unhappy customer

Details
On February 27th, we purchased a new 2017 Thor motor home, which had a few cosmetic /and minor repairs. Assured by Camping World that these would be taken care of requiring a few days in their shop. On 3/22/2018 the unit was returned to CW for the necessary repairs and additional claims . Questioning CW as to the repair time was subsequently advised they found additional problems caused by water infiltration they believed was coming from the roof. A call to Thor motors on 4/02/18 and 4/03/18 was advised by Thor they received claims on 3/13/18 and on 4/03/18 A 2nd claim was received with additional request for water infiltration. They assured me that both claims were approved. Because of our complaint to Thor, they said they were going to send a factory rep to CW. Thus we are going to have to wait another 2 weeks before we hear from them. As to date CW has not done any repairs, and will not start any repairs until they hear from the rep. It appears I am caught between Thor and CW ,about who will be responsible for the repairs. The consumer should not be caught up in this dispute. I believe CW should do everything to expedite this problem. With weather improving and plans to use our motor home are pushed back to a further unknown date.

Camping World - Lemonis

We've always received good service from Camping World. We've always gone to Camping World's first for our RV and camping needs. We will not spend another dime with you after seeing the Facebook post from your owner Marcus Lemons telling Trump supporters that he doesn't want our business. Ok, no more thousand dollar trips to Statesville for us. We support Trump and I'll suggest to you that the overwhelming amount of political bumper stickers that we see in our travels are for Trump. I don't remember ever seeing a Hillary or Obama sticker on another fiver or motor home in a resort or on the highway. Lemonis is not in touch with his clientele. So long Camping World!
