Camping World in Hendersonville, North Carolina - No accountability towards customer

I bought a Forest River Wildwood 27REI in March of 2017. I really loved this travel trailer yet I truly regret the purchase due to repairs that started as soon as it was delivered. I had no hot water for over a month, fought with service to fix it, microwave never worked, thermostat had issues. There is so much more to add to my experience but I will get to the point as of today May 8, 2018. Camp World is not equipped to deal with customers who have RV's that need service warranty repairs. My RV faucet in the kitchen had a leak, it eventually busted at the top of faucet and flooded my RV. Camp world picked up the RV, Early February of 2018, it has been exhausting to be put in the middle of service dept. and the warranty dept. The RV sat approximately 2 months before the underbelly was opened up to reveal what kind of water damage had occurred. I had to fight the warranty company to investigate the under part of the RV. The insulation was wet... mold was discovered. The warranty dept. took it upon themselves to instruct Camp World to clean up the mold yet they are not mold experts so I asked for an expert. The warranty company denied to reopen the underbelly and have a mold expert clean it up professionally. I basically asked for a refund of the RV. The warranty company refused to give one but did offer a 2,500 down payment for a new camper. I accepted the offer and did pick out a new RV, myself and Camp world did come to a price I would accept. Before this transaction could go through the warranty company retracted the 2,500 for the new RV due to a complaint I verbally made with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration because I felt it would not be safe for my severely autistic daughter to be exposed to a water damaged possible toxic mold inhalation in the RV. In that report that someone else wrote that had my name and address wrong said I admitted to freezing burst pipes in the bathroom that already had mold. The vin# was the only thing written that was correct on that complaint. I fought with the warranty company because no matter what was written in that complaint it was not what was found or repaired on my RV. I have a itemized list of repairs done to my RV. Again, the faucet in the kitchen broke due to a manufactures defect and flooded my RV. The warranty dept. still denied covering my RV even though the work has concluded with no evidence of what that person at the NHTSA wrote. I called Camp World corporate May 7, 2018 to explain the situation. As of today 3 months later nothing has been resolved with my RV. I did get a call from Justin Hawk in service yesterday May 7,2018 who asked me to come pick up my RV. I told Justin I wouldn't pick it up and didn't he know I was trying to trade it for a new RV? Justin is one of the nicest guys over at Camp World but a little ignorant to the current situation. I do believe he was instructed to call me back because none of the other managers in that office want to deal with my current dilemma. Once the warranty company pulled the 2,500 for a down payment for a new RV, everyone at Camp World has denied me a new RV, I don't exist to them now. I was working with a sales guy by the name of Wes, who won't return a call or e mail. Sales manager Matt has not returned my call either, he was supposed to get back to me about still going forward with the trade. I did offer to put down $500 on a new camper and would like my extended warranty money back from the previous camper. In my file at camp world I agreed to mediate any legalities between myself and camp world. I have left several messages to go ahead and do this before I obtain a lawyer and still no one from Camp world with authority will return my call and work this out.

None of your correspondence with the company in question was provided in writing and served via Certified Mail return receipt requested ; therefore it doesn't exist. You've wasted a ton of time and your golden opportunity for satisfaction.

Camping World in Mesa, Arizona - My issue is with the service department.

Made an appointment for April 17th because the toilet in our motorhome did not hold water. We told our service rep to repair or replace the toilet. He told us about the 45-point inspection and we agreed to that. He said it would be ready to go April 25th. We did not get a phone call, email or anything. We went back on the 25th and were given a bill for over $500. Nothing had been done to the toilet, but they charged us $67.50 for looking at it. We asked them to remove a damaged front hub cap and they charged us $33.75, they charged us $67.50 putting for air in the tires, and $76 for shop supplies. They said we needed 6 new tires for $3,200, but the two front tires have less than 2000 miles on them. We were told the roof needs scraped and resealed for $1,082. We have had two other people look at the roof and both said the roof is in good shape except for resealing around some vents for a cost of $125. I feel Camping World is a total rip-off and I will never have service work done there again nor will I ever recommend Camping World to anyone. And if asked about my experience with Camping World I will gladly tell this story to anyone.

But with all the negative reviews I’m afraid to. I’ve been wanting a new motor home for some time now . But with such a big purchase I have to do more research now.

I wouldn't buy from them, they gave us the run a round when it came to financing for about 2 weeks. Put a trailer on hold and was told to look at it but it was 2 hours away.

Drove to look at it but it mysteriously disappeared. Went back to the original dealer and they couldn't find it either.

Told us to leave cause they couldn't get us a loan in a stern tone.. they literally wasted my time and money and offended us.

We bought a brand new 5th wheel in June of 2017 and had a satellite dish for Dish Network installed. We brought the unit back a few months late and advised the refrigerator was making a loud noise and was not cooling properly. It also would not seem to switch over to electric from LP. They replaced only 2 of the 4 fans. They said they didn't know it had 4 fans and said if it started again to bring it back. 10 months later we returned as we had changed our service from Dish Network to Direct TV and needed the satellite changed. The refrigerator was making a loud noise as well. The Service adviser stated it would probably only take an hour to change the satellite, as all the wiring was done and Direct TV had programmed the receivers for the 5th wheel the day before. We received a call 3 days later from the tech 'Mike Smith'. (I think they lied to me about his last name when I asked for it) He stated that he was paid by the job and it was a minimum 3 hours. We told him that they had already done all the wiring 10 months before. He didn't seem to be concerned and stated he was paid by the job, not by the hour and the 3 hours would be minimum because he had to program the receivers. We again stated that Direct TV had programmed the receivers for the unit the day before we brought it there. His response was 'well, they don't always work'. Imagine that, Direct TV doesn't know how to program their own receivers! He then insisted that we come in and sign an affidavit that we would pay the 3 hours, before they would start the job. We then spoke to Linda Salis, whose card says she is a 'Sales Adviser', but told us she was the 'acting' General Manager. We paid $399 for the satellite 10 months prior, but she stated that now it was $599. She was rude and arrogant.

Even though I know from experience they really could care less once they make the sale, Camping World needs to step up and start making things right to improve their reputation. Campers have a lot of connections to other campers looking to buy or upgrade.

Word of mouth is a very powerful marketing tool and right now Camping World's incompetent reputation is making the rounds. They need to live up to the so called "outstanding customer service" we were promised when we purchased our travel trailer. How many other companies not only "not fix the issue and then not test their work", but cause more physical damage to your trailer when you trust them with repairs?

In my lifetime, Camping World has been the only company I have dealt with that does business this way. I agree, a class action lawsuit may be the only way for customers, like us, who have been treated this way.

We recently picked up our Camper from the Saukeville location AGAIN. In the year and half that we've owned it, it has spent more time at Camping World than in our possession . Once again, the work was not completed correctly. The problem still exists. This has been going on since we bought it. This time, we noticed exterior damage (dent and scrape) to the outside of our travel trailer that was not there when we took it in. It shows obvious signs that they tried to cover it up so we wouldn't see it. This not the first time they did some damage to our trailer. The other times were small nicks and dings that were upsetting but not worth having to take it back again for them to fix. What can we do? We don't want them fixing anything else. We no longer trust them. Whenever they "attempt" to fix something, it never is done correctly and we notice other damage elsewhere. We're just tired of this and want them to buy the damn thing back so we can move on. They did the damage, they should take the loss!

Our new Rv is at CW once again they break more stuff than they fix.Our unit has been there since Monday which is an apt we made more than a month ago no calls still today, I called today many times to finally get a manager. His response is were trying to fit you in,I'm so disgusted with themDon't buy all lies

Just as an update... They have done absolutely NOTHING to try to make this better.

There needs to be a class action lawsuit against them.

One good thing is that I have been spreading the word when a friend or fellow camper asks where to purchase a travel trailer or 5th wheel. I have prevented at least 7 friends from making the Camping World mistake and I will continue to hopefully prevent more from having to go through what we have gone through.

I SPOKE WITH A"NEW" SALESMAN WHO DIDNT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT RVS. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO GET SOME INFORMATION AND CALL ME BACK, HIS PHONE IS 239-247-1018 HE TEXTED ME BACK INSTAEAD OF A CALLING ME AND NOW TOLD ME THE RV WAS NOW $80,000 INSTEAD OF THE ADVERTIZED PRICE. "BUT ITS COOL GOD LOVES YOU" ALL IN TEXT MESSAGES, I CALLED THE SALES MANAGER, HE TOLD ME HE WOULD GET BACK WITH ME AND HE NEVER DID EITHER. Camping World - UNHAPPY CAMPER

Nothing has happened and that is the problem. The camper has been at CW for two months for repairs, but they have not fixed it, We call about every other day but nothing seems to get fixed. No one call back to say when we can expect it to be fixed. It did not take Forest River that long to build the complete camper. The camper is at Fayetteville NC Camping World if anyone there knows when it will be fixed please call and let me know. George Lewis 910-512-5231 I will let the readers know if I ever get the camper fixed, I just hope they get it fixed right this time.

Camping World - Bad Customer Service

We took our camper in on March 8th for some repairs which should be covered under our extended warranty. It is now May 5th and our camper is still not repaired nor is it likely to be repaired for sometime. Camping World has used every excuse in the world why it has not been repaired. When we dropped it off the service writer estimated it would be repaired in three to four weeks. We gave them four weeks, but when we called we could never get anyone to return our calls for a week and when they did they said that the service writer that we talked to no longer worked there and that nothing had been done to our camper and that another service person would be in contact with us. We had to contact Corp. to get them to call , when Ashley does call she is not much help. The customer service person a Corp. said he has a hard time getting her to call him back. This tells me that there is a lack of management from the top down. We hope that we do not have give up our summer camp hosting job because of the bad service from Camping World of Fayetteville N.C.

It should never come to that .. and excuse me when you pay a whopping $ 3000 more for a freaking warranty it should not matter if it is catastrophic.. what has happened to honestly and integrity., we’ve been dealing with phone calls and promises and even good ole lying .. and pathetic excuses...so not good..

I will never ever buy anything from them. There has not been even one person who has been helpful..

from the one who answers the phone to the service department to the managers.. shame on them

Extended warranties normally only benefit the issuing company. You must not think of extended warranties in the same vein as factory or manufacturer's warranty ; think more along the lines of catastrophic event insurance with the same result often expected from an insurance company : delay and deny.

You have also failed to complain properly ; nowhere do you state that you issued a formal written complaint served via Certified Mail return receipt requested. You must establish a legally verifiable timeline of your case.

Unfortunately, so far all you have done is the least effective action possible : calls. Correspondence of a verbal nature vanishes like a puff of steam in the wind and is as about as useful in resolving complaints.

Brand new Montana high country, ice maker not working.closet doors broken. Wood work cracks. Staples not holding paneling. Poor workmanship from service, melted countertop and stove top cover .. leveling system not working...we got in February and we have only had out total of 9 days.. brought in for repairs, they have had 3 weeks. They will now not respond to me..
