Camping World - No temporary tag.

We were supposed to get a temporary tag from Camping World in Oxford, Alabama to be mailed out for an overnight. A week later we still havent received it. We have called several times about this plus their forwarding our information to Texas for a permament tag from our county. Excuse after excuse when we call them about this.

We bought a 2018 over 3 weeks ago, and we've had it for a total of a day and a half. The wall was split, the 2nd tv we purchased was never installed. They didnt clean the trailer or detail anything and it was missing the furrion remote. They've had the trailer 3 and a half weeks and they have fixed a thing. Charlie in service is a condicending *** and chris the sales manager doesnt care. The gm Ron Baker has yet to return the phone call. I would not recommend CW Meridian to anyone, craigslist has better options.

Camping World in Kaysville, Utah - Roof installation failure

1.7
Details
Rv roof recommended to be redone due to damage. Service department recommended not patching because they do not hold up. This came specifically from clint at camping world Rv kaysville. Roof install failure because rounded radius not installed on sharp edges now new roof has holes wearing thru it after being covered in winter. Brand new in November, covered only until April with Rv cover purchased with Rv, not a cheap cover. Roof is worse off after $6400 repair done than before it was done. They do not stand behind their work. Do not go here, u will regret it. No guarantee on repairs done here! Go somewhere they stand behind their work!!!!

Camping World in Hendersonville, North Carolina - Taking advantage of older persons

1.0
Details
My older father in law purchased a rv in March. He was under the impression that he paid $14,000. It was later discovered that he actually paid over $26,000!! After further study it was discovered that he had paid over $7000 for add on "stuff". Such as $1995 paint protection, $1999 for gap coverage, $399 and $199 to The Good Sam's Club, and on and on all put on the loan at 8.9% for 204 months, yes 17 years!!! Which would put him in his mid 90's. He went to a local credit union to see about refinancing said rv, he was told to go back to Camping World and get the add on services removed. No one understands what the $1995 paint protection is, credit union had no idea, nor was there any paper work explaining it. He went back to Camping World, spoke with the sales manager who basically intimated him into keeping the "services", by telling him "if you take them off and something happens it's yours". I went back with him yesterday so "they" would not take advantage of him. Upon arrival we spoke with a salesman who asked if he could help us. My father in law asked to speak with the sales manager he was asked his name to tell sales manager, after about five minutes we were told that the sales manager was on a conference call for the next 30 minutes to one hour. I then asked to speak to his supervisor, was told he was on same conference call. I then asked to speak to finance manager. About 3 minutes later the sales manager came out, yes the same one on the conference call!!?? My father in law asked him to remove said add on services, the sales manager said I'll remove them but it's on you if something happens. I advised the sales manager that he was paying for full coverage insurance. The sales manager then made a comment about me not being on the paperwork. He went on to say that he could remove it all except "paint protection". Father in law asked why, he was told because it is a service that can't be removed. My father in law said that any "service" can be removed. Sales manager was actually laughing!! I then told the sales manager that this was very close to violation of NC law exploration of an older person. Wow!! He went off..ordered me out of his office...I left to avoid jail..really!! I never ever raised my voice at any time, in fact above statement is all I said the whole time. My father in law finally signed paperwork to remove "services" except this mystery "paint protection".. but the sales manager told my father in law that he would wait to turn in the cancellation until "he was sure he wanted to cancel" WHAT?? Are you kidding me? Two trips in a week's time requesting it removed, and you're going to wait to "be sure" ...we went back to credit union to refinance, while there I looked up these "services" online and found he could cancel them on line. Which I did, well some of them..when I called The Good Sam's Club, they could not find his contract, the associate asked me if the RV was purchased through Camping World? I told her yes..She then told me that The Good Sam's Club that Camping World sales is not affiliated with them. What?? I asked how that is, and was told she didn't understand it either! That we'd have to go through Camping World to cancel... Still working on The Good Sam's Club thing, waiting 6-8 weeks for other stuff to be removed. Oh, by the way finally found that this "paint protection" was paid to metrotech. I looked up metrotech and it is a spray on product to protect the paint. I guess that is why the sales manager would not reveal what paint protection was, because they "slipped" it in...but at least I understand why it can't be removed... So All this and still waiting 6-8 weeks!!

Camping World in Idaho Falls, Idaho - Customer Disservice

2.7
Details

Update by user May 17, 2018

I had a good conversation with the General Manager (Mike Ball) and the Service Manager (Cody Waiter) of Camping World in Idaho Falls. They listened well, and indicated they are appreciative of the feedback so they can use it to improve.

To this point, my father’s experience has been frustrating, but Mike and Cody are committed to giving their best effort. Of the outstanding items to be addressed, I am hopeful they will resolve them.

I think they are on the right track! Customer service can be difficult, but as long as they keep their perspective aligned with my fathers, they will have a happy customer (and hopefully a return customer).

Original review posted by user May 15, 2018

My father recently bought a new 2018 Winnebago motor home from CW in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Although they said they would fix everything documented, they have been a nightmare to work with, and my retired father now has a new motor home with marred paint, rusty hinges, and a clattering generator. The salesperson doesn’t work there anymore. The service manager told him “rust on a new motor home is normal.” Camping World’s service number is completely ineffective. Don’t sign the papers to buy it until you have verified the condition of everything. Once you sign the papers, you are powerless. My father is a very considerate and trusting person. After 6 weeks, he just wants to go camping. I have a lot more energy to pursue this and get results.

Specially speaking of JAMIE MATHIS in Financing. After purchase ( Cash sale) Mathis on 3 occasions lied about how and when I would receive the Manufacture Origination document I needed to title and tag my purchase. Waited 3 weeks for the Doc which should have been given to me. I learned the truth after speaking to another CWorld dealer. It took a inquiry to Camping World HQ to get this idiot to get off his tail and do something. . DONT DO BUSINESS WITH BYRON GA CAMPING WORLD

Camping World in Lowell, Arkansas - Bad business

Has anyone else had a problem with Camping World ? We bought a camper from there and we did it in good faith , when we finally got in to the camper there was a lot wrong with it, the skin on the right side is coming loose, sink leaking, fire place, slides not working proper , sky light was broke, leg broke, hydraulic pump leaks, and the list goes on. You call and you get no help because there was no notes left. I wonder how they know what was said because there is not one person there from when we bought our camper. We also have a friend that bought a new one and it is falling apart. I wonder if there is enough people out there to bring a law suit against them for bad business practices

Camping World in Wentzville, Missouri - Not thrilled.

We traded in an old damaged camper for a used camper last month. First thing that pissed us off was that we had left a tool in the old camper to take the wheel chaulks off with and it went "missing." They just said "Sorry." With the "new" camper we were told the camper was cleaned but underneath the stove and the sink were a ton of old mouse/rat *** (thankfully no signs of the creatures still). We wanted to PAY them to do a scrape and seal on the roof, the maintenance person said they had already done it, once we finally got up there we found out it hadn't been done. And at one point they had the awning out (I'm sure to do an inspection) and didn't inform us that the awning had broken away from the camper and the wood underneath the one arm is rotting, PLUS they rolled it up wet so when we opened it water poured out and the entire thing is filled with mold/mildew. We were warned they weren't the best to work with, and we had hoped since the sales person seemed awesome that we would have a good experience, but it seems not.
