Camping World in Monticello, Minnesota - Would never purchase from them again

1.3
Details
We purchased a brand new camper in Sept 2017. The store was closing and we were pushed into making a decision as they needed to close up for the day. I called the next day to them we felt like we were rushed and pushed into something that we did not have the time to think about. We had not signed any legal paperwork yet but did put money down. The credit manager told me they would take us to court if we failed to finish the purchase. We were then told that we could have 4 weeks before we needed to pick up the new camper but we needed to complete the sale paperwork. Once we arrived and explained the situation they gave us a $50 rug for compensation of the issues and told us the camper needed to be picked up with in 7 days. The General Manager was called and e-mailed multiple times and refused to speak with us even when we were in the store completing our paperwork. The day we went to pick up the camper we noticed it had hail damage and it was a brand new one. They told us they did not have another one on the lot and they would work something out with us. We found a ton of other items that needed repair but we already had a trip planned. They told us to come back with the camper and they would resolve the issues. We brought the camper back with a long list of items including the water lines under the sink had been leaking and have now damaged the cabinets, the stairs had pulled away from the bunks, the couch needed repair, screws falling out, staples not in all the way etc. They had our camper for 2 months trying to make the repairs and then we got a call that they backed another camper into ours and they would have to now fix the outside of the camper as well. They tried to fix it and it looked like a 2 year old did the job. Now it sits again waiting for new parts and repair. Each time we went to Camping World to check on the repairs we would end up with the list only being partially completed. We finally got a conference call with the GM and Service Manager. We explained that they can just give us a different camper since they now had more on the lot and we would call it good or they should give us money back as we also had to pay for storage to secure a spot and in all reality our camper sat at their store waiting on them all winter. Then they actually told us we should be lucky they are not charging us for storage. Are you kidding me?! The GM told us that they would give us a $200 gift card to use in their store and in return we would not be able to talk negatively about Camping World and we would void our warranty with them for good, even though we purchased an $8k extended warranty. But yet they would not refund us the money we spent on that warranty, just cancel it out. He threatened to take us to court if we reached out to the BBB or the Attorney Generals Office and we would not have a leg to stand on as he gave us an offer. Needless to say, we told them to keep the $200 and we would never be back to do business or tell anyone to do business with them. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. I know there are issues with a lot of places but this tops them all. I just pray we do not have any further issues with our camper as I don't want to have to deal with them again.

Camping World in Meridian, Idaho - NOT IN MY LIFE TIME

Details
After reading some of the rants about Camping World I think wife and I will find another place to purchase our new RV. We road around on their little golf cart and listened to salesman tell us how great they take care of their family that buys from them, after reading these rants makes me really wonder how they do treat their own family. I would not buy anything from a company that wouldn't stand behind what they sale, or a service department that doesn't have a team that cant fix and RV right. Thank you for your time last week but I think not on this purchase. Thanks everyone for your honest feed back and this really helps me make my decision.

Stoped by camping world to look at campers. Found just what I wanted. Yhey told me they checked everything and it was good. they sadi the propane to the heater was unhooked and could not be checked. the batteries checked out good. When I got home with it I found the the batteries were no good and the heater worked fine if you installed 2 AA batteries. The main battries had been froze and did not hold a charge. I talked to one of the managers. He told me thatif I brought them in that they would repace them. 200 miles one way, I returned the battries. they said they were special battries and they would have to order them. So I left them the old battries and came home to return at a later date to det new battries. they then left me a message telling me that they would not replace the batteries. When I called them, they would not let me talk to the salesman or the manager that said they would stand behind the battries. Do not take them at there word. They lie and tell you anything to get you out the door.

5/16/18 Drove 87 miles to keep a appointment set by CW to have a vent fan and two vent covers installed. When fan and covers were ordered was given a ball park price for parts and labor $400-$450. First work order at check in was $900+dollars. After refusing that and all there explanations as to why I was not told this or that I agreed for them to proceed with as estimated cost of $700+. We are talking about 1 Vent fan and two vent covers. After hours of waiting, ask to see the finished product. Vent fan cover was smoke/black NOT white as ordered, the new vent had no cover only 1 cover installed over bedroom. After a lot of cussing and shaking of heads on there part was sent to pay a $596 bill. Lot of emails to corporate office, a call from corporate person assuring me he would get this before a person who can fix the situation. Got a call yesterday from supposedly the service and part managers and it did not go well. 1. According to work order they did what was requested. 2. Since I had signed a $700 work order and only paid $595 sounds like the already took care of the problem. 3. Both these gentlemen had the most condescending, arrogant attitude. I understand they were pissed because they got a email from corporate and had to call. They finally offered to match online prices that they had agreed to do from the beginning and a $50 gift card! I may be off base but i refused!!!! 1. I think I should pay only prices agreed to on initial order 2. Think I should pay a reasonable rate for hooking up a power source (not $190) there was a light 18 inches away from opening. Thor says there is a wiring harnesses there already. 3. Compensated for gas (would not have made the trip had i known they would not have all the parts) Please tell me and Camping World Hope Mills who is wright.

Get away from them and stay away from them. Camping world teaches their service people how to rip you off in many different ways. Never go to camping world for any reason ever again.

Camping World - Worst customer service ever

Purchased 4 items and used there merchandise certifacate, go to return two small items worth $5.88 plus 36 cents tax charged. Paid 4.72 only due to certificate value applied. Only wanted what they charged me, but they apply the cash paid across the 4 items. Only get a 95 cent refund. What a rip off the way they fo math. The store manager didn't even want to hear my viewpoint, no customer service, just wanted to know what else I wanted to buy that day, oh then maybe he would have worked something out to make me whole and happy. The manager is Aaron Aragon which really should be Aaron Arragont since that is his attitude. Stay away from this store.

I had a similar experience in Cocoa Florida. I purchased a travel trailer cover on Labor Day weekend.

I used a coupon from them and a coupon from Good Sam. Just one week later, the same cover was discounted by another $90.00. In attempting to have it adjusted, the store manager, Dan was not willing to have my purchase adjusted using my coupons.

He instead insisted that the only way he would apply the coupons is if i were to purchase a protection plan for the cover. Not happy with response!!!

Camping World - Roadside Assistance

We called for Roadside Assistance in the suburbs outside of Boston. We told their dispatcher that we have a 40 foot Motorhome with a Flat Tire on the Rear Inside Tire. They responded by sending out a small Panel Truck with nothing more than a 1 1/2 ton car jack. When CWH's contractor pulled up I asked him is he had a hydrolic jack that could lift up my motorhome. He said no. I asked him how he intended to get the rear tire off without lifting the motorhome. He said can we use your coaches jacks. I said no. I do not want to take the chance of you damaging my coach by improper leveling using my hydrolics. I then asked how he intended to get my spare tire off of the coach from its attachment under the coach. He said he was told I would have the tools. I told him I did not have the tools. When we called it was 2PM after 13 calls back to CWH Roadside Assistance, and their send 3 other tech. and trucks, we finally got the tire changed at 10 pm that evening. This was the 2nd horrible experience I had with CWH Roadside Assistance. I will no longer use their Roadside Assistance.

Camping World in Berkley, Massachusetts - Horrible repair service

2.1
Details
My 2017 Coleman camper sustained storm damage from one of the many nor’easters we had this past winter. The damage was to the roof and canopy. After getting a settlement from my insurance company, I made arrangements with Camping World of Berkley ma to have it repaired I dropped it off on January 29 2018 as per their request. It is now approaching Memorial Day and is still not fully repaired. That’s four months in the shop. The service desk person said he has been on the job there about a month. He says he inherited a *** show in regards to repair orders. They took on more repair orders than they can handle. I feel helpless in this situation, do I contact a lawyer? Do I contact the state attorney general? Count me in if there are any class action law suits.

Camping World in Robertsdale, Alabama - Refusal of warranty being honored

Update by user Jun 17, 2018

As of 6-17-18 company still refuses to honor 1 year parts and labor.. suspension failed, equalizers damaged, axel shifted causing breaks to be damaged ..

still no resolution with camping world. Corporate would not confirm or deny that they did or did not have a 1 year parts and labor warranty on repairs...

Still waiting. Probably will be out the $2,500 ....

Original review posted by user May 18, 2018

In January 2018 we broke 2 leaf springs on our Grand Design RV 5th wheel Solitude. This Camping World was only 8 miles away and over 2 days fixed us and got us on the road. We thought they saved us. Little did we know they used inferior parts and improper bolts that barely held on the springs to the axels. 4 months latter the springs failed, not only failed but damaged the equalizers on the rig, causing the axel to shift and damaging the brakes. When I called about the 1 years parts and labor warranty I was told about to get re-embursed for the 2,500 dollar expenses the Service Manager Kevin Hester said that they do not give warranty's on repairs paid for by insurance companies. Called the Insurance company Protecitive Asset Protection Platinum coverage Xtraride service contract program they only paid for 1/2 of the cost of 2 springs not replaced by Camping World. I would strongly advise you to avoid this Camping world for their inferior repairs. On the U bolts holding the axels on, the nuts were 'barely' screwed on. I don't fault the service writers who only did their job, but Camping World corporate does not give a crap either. Calling them they acted concerned but told me not to write back until the several month long process of asking for a policy payment review was completed even thought they said that it did not sound proper for them saying no warranty on repairs.
