Camping World in Calera, Alabama - Incredibly Frustrating

Four months ago my wife and I purchased a Thor Freedom Traveler 27A from Camping World in Calera, Al. After the purchase we were given a walk-thru to provide an in-depth overview of the coach. This overview revealed a yellow stain in the flooring that couldn't be removed and the LP indicator lights were not working due to a sensor missing in the tank. We were told by management, after we said we no longer wanted the vehicle, that they would replace the flooring and install the sensor. They said this would take about 4 days - the four days became 4 weeks. After taking the coach home, we did a mock campout in our driveway and found several (minor) issues. We made a list and contacted Camping World to set up time to bring it in. We also asked to have a track bar, and steering stabilizer installed. It has now been 3 weeks and according to Camping World they are waiting on a part for the steering stabilizer. When I asked about the other issues I was told that it had to be approved...something about warranty approval. This made no sense because the coach has bumper-to-bumper (the best they offered) coverage. But the most frustrating part in all of this is that the vehicle has been sitting in their lot for 3 weeks and NOTHING has been done!! Someone tell me if I'm wrong, but everything I've encountered at Camping World has shown to be poor management, poor communication, and I feel deceived about their warrant program. If I could, and I'm not sure I can't, I would tell them to keep the coach and refund my money.

You are not wrong, what you are experiencing is a very much commonplace at most of the CW locations. Camping world considers YOU the problem and not them.

I agree that you misunderstood the warranty terms ; the clue is that you stated, regarding the warranty, QUOTE : " the best they offered " ... you shouldn't have to pay anything for at very least the original manufacturer's portion.

Whomever constructed the rest of the vehicle cabin, etc. is next ; there is a very specific portion of the Uniform Commercial Code stipulating requirements regarding product sold as "new". This is not an extra charge option either.

I'd like to see the *** documents you signed when purchasing an add-on that benefits only the dealership in partnership with the sponsor. Perhaps you should have followed your first instinct and declined the transaction ; this may just be the beginning as I read a lot of complaints about RVs posted to this website.

Camping World - Sales outstanding but service worst ever

I purchased 1st RV new trailer leaked, return for repair after few months several trips due to no call still leaked. Traded it for new motorhom 6 months later outside kitchen have leakage still under warranty told parts on order month later not on order was told for some reason by parts Clark. Back and forth from mobile over and over just to insure the things been done because no one answers phone nor returns calls.

Motorhome back in and was told get it back by 8th July. lol no way with number of things they did not fix last time. They have a new Parts Manager and he seem to be a good one.

When my wife and I purchased our 2017 jayco I informed them that there was a pipe under the kitchen sink was leaking on top of many other thing and they never fixed it I’m not very happy about the things they claimed they fixed cuz there not fixed I can tell you now I will not be taking my camper back to the golden location the service department is a joke and should be looked at by higher management and fix that major issue

Camping World - What is going on this comoany

I bought 2 camping tralers from this comoany, and ship them to abroad. One traler did not come to an electric cable. After, calling so many time for one month. Finally, mail it to me. Now, waiting refund of $500 after 6 weeks. This comoany has culture of not calling back at all. I made more than 30 calls. So massy operatiin and a customer service. I am a sicjk of tired of this company.

Took my RV to Camping world to have Warranty work done to it and get winterized at the same time. That was in November got it back in late Feb, then took it out early March for a week. Was notified that all the warranty parts had come in and I needed to bring the RV in so the work can be completed. I dropped off the RV early March, was told it would be only a week. After countless calls to the service department I am told in late April that I can come and pick it up all the work is completed. the day before I am to pick up my RV, the service depart. calls and informs me that there was damage done to the RV that needed to be fix. Therefore, the total amount of time Camping World has had my RV is 22 week out of 35 weeks.

Camping World is a trap for your money. Everyone is friendly to your face but as soon as you pull off the lot they have the worst customer service ever. We have had issues from our camper and just can't get any help from anyone. To the point where they are even ignoring us. We have tried over and over to reach out for someone to help us. We have now contacted the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney Generals Office to see if we can get any assistance from them. Please DO NOT purchase ANYTHING from Camping World. This place is a complete JOKE. We can't even enjoy camping because of this sorry excuse of a business.

They can replace an obvious broken part but if is troubleshoot and repair be prepared to take your rig back over and over until you give up. They are dishonest liars and the worst is the store manager in Idaho Falls. I had a problem with my water pump and was charged to do what was warranty work and they never actually did anything other than put water in my unit, muddle around and solve nothing, and then winterize it again. They then charged me $150 and held my unit hostage until I paid the ransom. THE PROBLEM STILL CONTINUED AFTER THEY GAVE IT BACK. I have been into camping world in St George Utah, New Hampshire, and the worst crap hole of all Idaho Falls Idaho and they are all the same incompetent liars.

Camping World - Finance Manager Clifton Parish..North Charleston, SC

My husband and I visited Camping World in North Charleston, SC several times to look at campers and to take our boat to be appraised as a trade in. We found the camper we wanted and accepted the offer for our boat. The credit application was completed, and we were given a day/time to come in to pick up the camper. Upon arrival, we were introduced to the finance manager Clifton Parish. He was unfriendly from the start. He informed us that our credit score was lower than what he thought it would be and that we would need to put 10% down, which we had planned to anyways. Then we were told that since we are both retired, my husband a military veteran of 30 years, and I a retired public school teacher would have to provide written proof from the military retirement and education department that we receive retirement. Also we needed to provide written proof that we both receive Social Security. We do not receive monthly statements from our retirements or Social Security. Our checks are directly deposited in our bank. I told him that he has our bank account number and could check that way. He said we needed to provide more proof. He told us that our interest rate would be around 17%, and my husband asked him how much the monthly payments would be at that rate. He said he did not know and made no effort to check. This gentleman provided no help at all. We left without purchasing the camper. This was a very bad experience . We will never again purchase another camper from your company and will discourage anyone from doing so. Mr. Parish is an arrogant, sarcastic individual who does not offer any assistance to customers.

We have had nothing but professional service at Camping World of Spartanburg SC. Our daughter has bought two yes two campers the first only had a couple of months due to a fire at our home her Camper and ours plus a shop burned to the ground. So she got anotherobe. Keith Burnsed helped her and has been nothing but a great salesman. When its our turn we will ask for Keith Burnsed at Camping World Spartanburg SC. Thanks for awesome service.
