Don't buy from Camping World

1.0
Details
When i went to look, i was shuffled into an office to fill out a credit app before being allowed to even look. My brother went in and bought a camper, when he went back for their "tour" of the camper it wasnt the one they agreed upon. No contract in hand walking out the doir. Camping World added several charges without permission, totalling about 6000.00. Contract doesn't show up for 2 weeks?? RIP OFF RIP OFF RIP OFF. Its been more than a month and my brother is still waiting for the refunds on the "added" items. RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Same. Got our contract and it was $6000 higher than agreed price.

We challenged it and got our deal thrown out. Going to Campers Inn.

I purchased products from their online store and now I am being spammed with "deal" emails several times a week. They are a spam-house.

The CAN-SPAM laws requires them to provide an online method of opting out, either via email or a preference center. Unfortunately their unsubscribe link doesn't actually unsubscribe.

It forwards you to a web page featuring their 800 number, which they tell you to call in order to unsubscribe. That is not in compliance with the CAN-SPAM act.

Camping World in Pooler, Georgia - Unorganized, slow and dishonest!!!

Update by user Jul 05, 2018

Nothing was resolved!!! We go to pick up our motor home, now it's down to a few days before we have to go out of state to a job.

The awning has not been replaced. They were to fix or replace catch latch on closet door. They charged us $67 for that, when we got home, not only did they not fix or replace it, the removed the other side. They were to fix DVD player in the bedroom charged us for that when we got to out first stop, the cable came out from u Der the slide out.

They were to adjust compartment doors, it got wet when it rained. Charged $135, they are still loose. They replaced air conditioner in front on the previous visit tried to charge us on this visit, who let's you leave owing a couple of thousand dollars? Made them turn it into extended warranty.

My refrigerator they said they looked at it and it was fine. But right now the inside temperature is 52 degrees.

So this visit cost us $2400.00 The only thing they actually did was put the seals on the slide outs that they didn't do the time before. There were other things the said was from the previous visit, now mind you this was 7 months earlier, that they tried to charge us for but we refused to pay.Crooks!!!

We bought a motor home from them in 2011. Drove it home and loaded it for our first trip. We didnt get 500 miles from home and the crown molding above the bed fell off, it had broken the ends. Same trip, the crown molding above my stoves falls off and hits me in the head! They ordered a replacement for the bed room and were supposed to fix the one in the kitchen. They lost it, reordered again, never got it. We ended up nailing the broken one up there. I fixed the one above the stove with gorilla glue. My refrigerator wont stay cold enough to keep my food from spoiling. Have taken it no numerous occasions to have it fixed. (Which it never has been) the last time they eorked on it, we brought it home and was loading it with the generator running, and the refrigerator caught on fire, same day we brought it home. I wanted them to just replace it at this time because we have the extend warranty. They messed up with the warranty company and said Id have to turn it in under our auto insurance policy. The fire was their fault! They should have replaced it. They ordered the wrong size awning 9 months ago and still havent got the right size. They charge you for work the supposedly do, but it doesn't get done, so when you take it back, they charge you again!!! Each time we take it to have work done they have it for months! They are ridiculous!!! We have never had a good experience with them. We even went to different locations, and I guess they were all trained the same, lousy!!! Do do it, go some where else to get your work done.

Camping World in Golden, Colorado - Poor management

I called on Saturday and asked if they had a particular item in stock. I was informed they did. On Sunday morning I drove 60 miles round trip and learned that they didn't have it in stock but that they were going to have it "soon". On Monday the first three times I called I was automatically transferred to a music recording. The 4th time, a woman answered who transferred me and I sat and listened to the phone ring about 40 times. The 5th time I called, I was automatically transferred into the music recording again. This is obviously a store that is very poorly managed. I travel the country full-time and have discovered only one Camping World(Tampa) which seemd to be run in a competent and efficient manner.

Camping World in Wood Village, Oregon - Unscrupulous sales techniques

Details
Bought a Jayco travel trailer with posted price at $24,349. The flyer inside the trailer distinctly stated (below said price) Save $1000 if financed through camping world, which by all practical means would make the trailer $23,349. The salesman also clearly stated the stabilizer package would be included in the price. Once back in the showroom the paperwork appeared confusing/nebulous. Now the $1000 off for financing I was told was already a part of the $24,349. Not at ALL the way it appeared in trailer flyer. Then the stabilizer that was guaranteed part of the deal was added on at close to $500. Salesman stated "we" misunderstood him which is total BS! Then all of the added taxes and misc costs that were not mentioned during negotiation were added and now my trailer was over $26,000. I was incredulous with the sneakiness and unscrupulous nature of Camping World. We should have walked out, our bad. We were in knee deep before we realized this business has absolutely no moral compass! Never again and now my mission to is to earn the world about the shady tactics employed at Camping World!!!

Pricing issue

Camping World in Oakwood, Georgia - Not good .

Camping world Oakwood , June 1st,2018- We went in looking for a fifth wheel. I told them My price range and the salesman (Sal) continues to show us fifth wheels well above our price range. He did show us some in our price range, but it aggravated me that he kept on showing us the ones double our price range ! We negotiated down on one that we liked, but was told the GM was taking it to the lake for the weekend. So if we didn’t get it that day he wouldn’t be back with it for a week or so. It’s nice to know that Camping world is taking their campers out and using them before selling them ! We sat down to do paperwork and could not come to a fair price. We went home to realize that the salesman lost or kept my husbands CDL license. He drives for a living and we lost income because of this error. I know the salesperson never handed back the license. Now we are filing a lost or stolen police report for his license, because we don’t know if someone there took them Or if they were genuinely lost. It’s not hard to hand a license back once you get a copy. I will Never do business with camping world again. This has been a catastrophe.

A "catastrophe" is something like the World Trade Center destruction, or Hurricane xxx, or the destruction of the shuttles Columbia and Challenger. World War Two and the Holocaust were catastrophes.

Your problem is a mosquito bite or a zit on your cheek by rational comparison. Chill out, slow down, analyze, overcome .... and next time explain to us indoor types the nature and purpose of a "fifth wheel" ; it sounds like an inconvenience and a physical impracticality ... two wheels, OK, three wheels, OK, four wheels, OK, a fifth wheel ?

Huh ?

A clown car perhaps ? I don't know and you didn't say.

@Chester

FYI.. For someone who is a CLASS A CDL HOLDER and for their license to get lost is a huge deal.

That is how they provide for their family, it is their income and life line. Catastophe?

Maybe the word was used a bit loosely, but not in complete ignorance. A fifth wheel is a large camper, and if you don't know what a fifth wheel even is, you probably shouldn't comment on a camping world review.

Catastrophe comes from a Greek word meaning "overturn." It originally referred to the disastrous finish of a drama, usually a tragedy. Therefore they did use the word correctly !

Camping World in Kingston, New York - Zero stars

1.0
Details
I wish I could give Camping World negative stars. They are dishonest and very unprofessional. The finance guy was swearing and using derogatory names, like a child. He was distracting us with stories about his adult children's drama. He quoted me the wrong price for the extended warranty and never explained that we could pick and chose what was in the warranty. They charged us $2000 for a warranty to protect the paint and fabric. Who would chose to pay that for a camper? and then $1000 for road side assistance which we already got free from our car and trailer insurance. They also charged us $1000 over the cost they had quoted us for the camper itself. The finance guy (Tony) told me it was basically my fault for signing it. He tried to bully me when I called to complain, asking me why I didn't know I could edit my warranty and telling me he said warranties not warranty over and over again. He was incredibly rude and he told me he would get back to me but never did. I called the sales managers (John Glenn and Michael Lucido)whose cards were in my packet of info, neither of them returned my call. I then got the number for the general manager (Dan I believe) and left him a message and never heard from him. I then received an email from my sales guy Vinnie saying thank you for the purchase and to let him know if they could do anything for me as they think of their customers as family. I responded to that email and copied it to the sales managers and the internet sales manager Melissa as well No one responded. I went on the camping world main page and chatted with someone who said she would send our case to the corporate office and we would hear back. We haven't heard from anyone We live an hour away but now we'll have to go there just in hopes of actually talking to someone.. This is absolutely ridiculous. I encourage anyone with a similar experience to report it to your attorney general and the better business bureau. I'll update if I ever hear back from them

Camping world sucks

I could write a book on why not to buy an RV at camping world. I'll highlight a free. Bathroom door will not open it's taken over 4 months for parts and still not in. Air-condition will not run correctly. Reserve battery back had no water in them . Tire pressure was at only at 40psi should of been at 80psi. Refrigerator themostate stop working after just four weeks. Tried calling customer service no answer got a recording and ask for them to call me back nothing. Had to drive 2 hours to talk with someone. Asked to speak with the regional manager and was promised a call from him nothing.I could go on and on with issues with camping world. It seems no one cares once they get your money the customer service stop. Sad cause I will never up grade at camping world. The CEO should be replaced for running a company like this.

Camping World - Sale before the Customer

1.7
Details
Had to give phone # to get price and then the phones calls kept coming & I had to block them. So I went there and when the salesman realized I was only out for information to make future decisions he gave me the choice of walking back (long hot walk for a 60 yr old) or taking me back so he could close deals with people who wanted to buy that day. So asked for brochures to take home & told I would have to go online for that. So I did and once again the hard sales started again. When I asked for that to not happen I was told that I had no choice that I would be called every time I wanted information. So I will not be coming back. I want to be treated with respect & won’t get it here. Pushy & hard sales is a sure sign that $ comes before the customer.
